Refund Policy

1. Founder's Circle Lifetime Access

FOUNDER'S CIRCLE: Special refund policy for lifetime access purchases made before Beta V1 launch (December 22, 2025).

1.1 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

  • Guarantee Period Begins: December 22, 2025 (Beta V1 launch date), not purchase date
  • Guarantee Period Ends: January 21, 2026 (30 days after launch)
  • Purchases Made Before December 22: Your 30-day period still starts on December 22, ensuring all Founders have equal opportunity to evaluate the platform
  • No Questions Asked: Full refund with no explanation required

1.2 How to Request Founder Refund

To request a refund for your Founder's Circle lifetime purchase:

  1. Email: support@dynatax.ai with "Founder Refund" in subject line
  2. Include: Your account email and purchase date
  3. Deadline: Request must be submitted by January 21, 2026
  4. Response: We will respond within 1 business day
  5. Processing: Refunds processed within 5-7 business days to original payment method

FULL REFUND: 100% of your purchase price will be refunded. Stripe processing fees are absorbed by DynaTax AI — you get every dollar back.

1.3 Lifetime Access Definition

"Lifetime" means access for as long as DynaTax AI operates commercially:

  • Platform Lifetime: Access for the operational lifetime of DynaTax AI, not unlimited usage
  • If Platform Discontinued: 12 months advance notice provided
  • Pro-Rated Refunds: Calculated based on a 10-year expected service period from purchase date
  • Data Export: Full data export tools provided before shutdown
  • Future Features: All future updates and features included at no additional cost

1.4 Usage Limits & Add-Ons

Founder's Circle lifetime access includes specific monthly usage limits (see Terms of Service Section 2.6). Additional capacity is available:

  • Add-On Purchases: Founders receive permanent 50% discount on additional capacity
  • Add-On Refunds: Monthly add-ons are non-refundable once the billing period begins
  • Exceeding Limits: If you exceed usage limits without purchasing add-ons, service may be temporarily restricted until the next billing cycle or until add-ons are purchased

2. Subscription Plans

2.1 Client Subscriptions (Free, Starter, Growth, Pro, Enterprise)

  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from account settings
  • Effective Date: Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • Refunds: No refunds for partial months or unused time in current billing period
  • Access: You retain access to paid features until end of billing period
  • Data Export: You can export your data before cancellation takes effect

2.2 Professional Subscriptions (Pro Plan, Firm Plan)

  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime from professional account settings
  • No Refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable for current month/year
  • Marketplace Access: Listings removed immediately upon cancellation
  • Active Cases: Complete ongoing client work before cancellation to avoid disputes

3. Tax Filing Fees

3.1 AI Fee Estimate & Retainer

  • 50% Retainer: Non-refundable once professional begins work on your return
  • Before Work Starts: Full refund available if you cancel before professional acceptance
  • Professional Acceptance: Once professional accepts case, refund only available if professional agrees

3.2 Final Payment

  • Refundable Conditions: Refundable if return not completed within agreed timeframe
  • Request Timeline: Must request refund within 30 days of final payment
  • Dispute Process: Refund requests reviewed within 5 business days

IMPORTANT: Tax preparation fees are paid to independent professionals, not DynaTax. Refund requests for professional services must be directed to the professional per your engagement agreement. DynaTax facilitates payment processing but is not party to the professional fee agreement.

4. Add-On Services

  • E-Sign Envelopes: Non-refundable once envelope sent
  • AI Tax Research: Non-refundable after query processed
  • Lender Verification Package: Refundable if not delivered within 7 days
  • Extra Storage: Prorated refund if cancelled mid-month
  • Team Members: Non-refundable for current billing period

5. Refund Request Process

5.1 How to Request

To request a refund:

  1. Email: support@dynatax.ai with "Refund Request" in subject line
  2. Include: Account email, reason for refund, charge date/amount
  3. Timeline: Within 30 days of charge
  4. Response: We will respond within 5 business days

5.2 Refund Method

  • Original Payment Method: Refunds processed to original payment method (credit card, bank account)
  • Processing Time: 5-10 business days for refund to appear
  • Stripe Fees: Stripe processing fees ($0.30 + 2.9%) not refundable

6. Chargebacks & Disputes

IMPORTANT: Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in immediate account suspension and loss of data access. Please contact support@dynatax.ai before initiating a chargeback.

If you dispute a charge with your bank/credit card:

  • Account immediately suspended pending dispute resolution
  • Access to tax documents and data restricted
  • We will provide documentation to your financial institution
  • If chargeback reversed in DynaTax's favor, account reinstatement requires payment of original charge plus dispute fees ($15)

7. Professional Fee Disputes

Disputes regarding professional tax preparation fees:

  • First Step: Contact professional directly (per engagement agreement)
  • Mediation: If unresolved, request DynaTax mediation at disputes@dynatax.ai
  • Timeline: Mediation requests must be made within 30 days of final payment
  • Process: DynaTax reviews case details, communications, and work product
  • Resolution: Mediated resolution recommended (non-binding)
  • Arbitration: Per Terms of Service, binding arbitration if mediation fails

8. Exceptions & Special Circumstances

8.1 Service Outages

If DynaTax experiences service outage preventing platform use:

  • Outage >24 hours: Automatic 1-day credit applied to subscription
  • Outage >7 days: Pro-rated refund for downtime period
  • Notification: Email notification sent explaining credit/refund

8.2 Account Termination by DynaTax

If DynaTax terminates your account for Terms of Service violations:

  • No Refund: Subscription fees are forfeited
  • Data Export: 7-day grace period to export data before deletion
  • Professional Fees: In-progress professional work paid per engagement agreement

8.3 Hardship Requests

In cases of demonstrated financial hardship:

  • Email hardship@dynatax.ai with explanation and documentation
  • We review on case-by-case basis
  • May offer payment plan, temporary discount, or partial refund
  • Not guaranteed - at DynaTax's sole discretion

9. Automatic Renewal Notice

AUTO-RENEWAL: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You will be charged the then-current subscription rate. Cancel anytime from account settings to stop future charges.

Annual Plans: For subscriptions >$100/year, we send email reminder 7-15 days before renewal with:

  • Renewal date
  • Amount to be charged
  • Link to cancel or update payment method
